An important Thunderstorm note and update on lettered editions
Hello all,
I usually am pretty quiet when it comes to these updates and just go straight to the books, but this week is going to be a little bit different. I hope that everyone reads this, but more specifically, I hope those who work with me have a chance to see this.
Back in late January, I was selected to be on a jury that had a trial that expected to last five months. This trial just ended. I knew that Thunderstorm was going to be affected by this, just as I knew my day job and my personal life were as well. I just vastly underestimated by how much. Basically, I was completely mentally drained throughout the entire process (unfortunately I saw some images I will never get out of my head) and Thunderstorm got the short end of the stick.
One of the options was to just put the press on hiatus for a half year, but I have always had this real fear that any long breaks would be disastrous. I didn’t want to stop, even temporarily, because I believe maintaining momentum is important. And more importantly, I wasn’t allowed to say anything about the case. Disappearing did not seem like a good solution.
I am not sure how many people have picked up on me being a little off. Hopefully, not many. But small things slipped through the cracks, errors here and there that I wouldn’t have missed before and hope to not miss again. Communication was spotty at times. Things took two or three times longer to get done, even if they were simple tasks. I fell behind in writing new contracts and evaluating submissions. I think it showed in my personality as well, when I had my good days I was “just distracted” and when I had my bad days I was shutdown. And of course one of the biggest challenges was shipping books consistently.
I did a decent enough job releasing books in limited edition format so far this year. Very proud of all the books and hope you all enjoyed them. Some are still available so please check out the website. I did fall a bit behind on lettered editions though…and these will consist of most of the books announced today.
So where are we now? Well, the trial is over. I spent Friday night relaxing. Really relaxing for the first time in a long time. And I am now ready to give Thunderstorm a tune-up and get it back on the road. This may take me the rest of the summer, but I vow to get it done.
One last thing before we get to the books, come see me at Scares That Care IV! These events are always a great time, a perfect convention for fans of the genre.

Now to the books. Almost all of the list below are lettered books, which are typically sold out upon announcement. Over the course of the trial, I attempted to stay caught up on limited editions, first and foremost. But I fell behind on lettered edition shipping and announcements. Apologies for having so many at once. You can reach out to me at thunderstormbooks@gmail.com if you want me to hold some for you.

NEW BRENAN LAFARO!
26 lettered copies.
ILLUSIONS OF ISOLATION
by Brennan LaFaro
Is anyone ever really alone?
When a young man’s wife goes away for the weekend, he lies awake all night wondering what the otherworldly sound in the attic is and why only he can hear it.
After her husband’s death, a mother who interacts with her son exclusively through stationery notes grapples with the strange ways her lost love seems to be haunting them both.
And inch by inch, room by room, a young girl’s home is overtaken by a savage jungle, even while her parents are being gradually replaced by somewhat…wilder housemates.
In this debut collection Brennan LaFaro, the author of NOOSE and SLATTERY FALLS, brings you these stories of creeping dread and much, much more. Contained within are thirteen tales of horror, humor, and heart, (including nine which have never before seen the light of day) and an introduction by the legendary Jonathan Janz.
Is anyone ever really alone? Or are they merely suffering…

ABHORRENT EXISTENCE
by John Baltisberger
When the Abhorrent rose from the waters of the Rio Grande and began its inexorable march through Texas, no one could have foreseen the horrors that would engulf the world.
Abhorrent Siren followed those who faced the mutagenic terror of the Abhorrence as bodies and minds were warped, people turned into inhuman monsters, while San Antonio was crushed under the feet of the Abhorrent kaiju. Abhorrent Faith brought the evil Pastor Aiden King, who sought to use the terrifying power of the monster to grow his own power and fulfill his own terrifying vision of bigotry and hate.
Finally, in Abhorrent Accords, the true scope of the Abhorrence emerges. A pandemic of monstrous mutations is rippling across the globe and subsuming all decency and humanity. The evil of Aiden King spreads, and those who survive and somehow escape the changes and carnage will still watch their lives being destroyed. If the human race does survive, will humanity still be the final casualty?
This special collector’s edition of Abhorrent Existence gathers together all three novellas, along with short stories that delve deeper into the world of the Abhorrence and three essays. With an introduction by adored Godzilla comic artist Matt Frank, this is the quintessential collection of kaiju terror.
