Grimm Awakening
by Bryan Smith
For private investigator Jack Grimm, the day starts off like so many other days–with a hangover. The memory blackout of the previous night’s events is also par for the course. Same goes for finding himself in unfamiliar surroundings. It’s far from the first time that Jack has come to in a seedy dump after a night of overindulgence. In every other way, however, nothing is normal. Jack is in Hell. The literal Hell of the bible, not the state of mind. As he works to piece together the circumstances of his arrival in Hell, Jack soon finds himself embroiled in the latest battle in the never-ending war of good vs. evil. For Jack, the stakes couldn’t be higher as he seeks redemption for all his mistakes. And there will be a lot of temptation along the way, because the road out of Hell leads to Sin City. Las Vegas, baby, and for Jack this gig is a real case of fear and loathing, with the conflict playing out against a background of glitz, gangsters, and gunfire. And, oh yeah,a super sexy demonic dame with a taste for dealing out pain. It all looks pretty hopeless for Jack, but as a guy with nothing to lose, he’s willing to bet everything on a lucky roll of the (metaphorical) dice.
